KAREN MOORE

My clients describe me as inspiring, motivational and outcome focused. My strategic and enthusiastic approach to working with individuals and organisations will hellp you develop the confidence, mindset and tools to get you where you need to be.

I’m an experienced Chief Executive, Certified Executive Coach and Mentor and Non-Executive. I first qualified in Hotel and Catering Management and went on to study a Post Grad Diploma in Marketing. After a successful career in Retail and Hospitality, I’ve now worked for over 30 years in the Charity Sector, and currently contribute as a Director/ Trustee on two Boards, Cumbernauld Theatre and LifeCare, a charity which supports and empowers older people.

I worked with Scottish Waterways Trust as its Chief Exceutive from 2012-2018, where some of my greates achievements were raising £16 million, growing the organisation’s income from £200k to £1.5m p.a. and creating the award-winning canal college, a £1.4m outdoor skills and learning programme.

I established Jaren Moore Biz back in 2018, specialising in strategic reviews, organisational visioning, culture and behavioural change as well as income diversification and sustainability.

I also deliver Interim Executibe Contract work and have helped over 10 organisations to fill the gap while their new senior leader is recruited; assisting organisations to transition through complex situations; including merger, legal collaborations or dissolutions, change or restructure programmes, cultural and behavioural issues within teams or organisations, and strategic Board and Governance development and reviews.

I qualified as an accredited Executive Coach and Mentor in 2016 through the Edinburgh Coaching Academy and completed my training with the Thinking Project as a Time to Think Facilitator.

My style is friendly, strategic, future and solutions focused. I like to listen and get to know my coachees and mentees, understand the issues they are facing, be part of the answer if appropriate, but let them be part of finding their own solution.

I like to help clients to think and find innovative and creative solutions. I love being part of lightbulb moments.

And when I’m not working

I live in Edinburgh with my partner – a long way from my home town of Liverpool, but fate brought me to Scotland and that’s where I have stayed for the last 25+ years. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling, walking and exploring Scotland’s natural treasures. I adore the world’s creatures but if pushed, I’d have to say cats hold a special place in my heart. I also love to cook and am at my happiest in the kitchen creating yummy vegetarian dishes.
